Welder/Fabricator

Description

As a Welder, you will be responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials in our workshop and/or on construction sites. Other duties may include keeping the workshop clean and general duties. You must be able to work unsupervised and obey all company and WHS safety procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in welding mild steel (mig)
  • Trade qualifications in welding (or equivalent)
  • Understanding of welding and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and follow design drawings
  • Ability to follow Safety and operating procedures
  • Ability to produce quality work at a high standard
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

Desirable Skills

  • White Card qualification (Construction Induction Training Card)
  • Forklift Licence
  • Experience in welding other steels

Remuneration

  • Full-Time Permanent position of 38hrs per week
  • Pay rate will depend on experience and qualifications
  • Penalty rates apply for overtime and weekend hours

APPRENTICE Welder

Description

As our apprentice welder you will learn on the job from a welcoming team of skilled and experienced tradesmen. You will be provided with training and the required uniform and personal protective equipment.

  • Hardworking with willingness to follow instructions and learn
  • Motivated with ability to work with others
  • Good time management
  • Show initiative and use problem solving skills
  • Genuine interest in the construction and manufacturing industry
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

Desirable Skills

  • Metalwork (or similar) subject completion (year 10 minimum)
  • White Card qualification (Construction Induction Training Card)

    Staff

    Our team currently consists of 25 staff across a broad range of trades and professions to ensure we always provide the right person for the job.

    Workshop staff are qualified to Australian Standard 1554.1 for structural steel welding, and they hold their respective trade certificates.

    Yoogali Engineering also holds accreditation issued by the Department of Employment, Education and Workplace Relations.

    We adhere to all the latest relevant WHS guidelines in relation to our trade and departments. This includes but is not limited to Safe Work method statements and risk assessments, inspecting electrical equipment and lifting gear, ensuring staff are suitably licenced for the equipment they operate and ensure have all relevant WHS certificates required.
